Ambulance driver (Mykolaiv)
Who are we?
DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that has been operating in Ukraine since 2022.
DCA’s program in Ukraine focuses on various humanitarian activities, including the implementation of humanitarian mine action.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the safe and timely evacuation of any potential casualties from incident sites to designated medical facilities in the event of emergencies.
The driver will be directly responsible for the daily operation of an ambulance vehicle within Mykolaiv Oblast. The driver is required to remain with the vehicle during all working hours on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- The driver must be present during working hours (Monday to Friday).
- Ensure the ambulance is always 100% operational and ready, including the functioning of air conditioning systems in both the front and rear of the vehicle.
- Remain in close proximity to the trauma doctor throughout working hours to assist when needed.
- Ensure the vehicle has enough fuel for travel to any location, including up to the border crossing point.
- Maintain all required documentation, such as trip logs, up to date in accordance with instructions.
- Complete medical training provided by the INGO.
- Provide trauma care if needed under the supervision of the trauma doctor.
Candidate Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, category C or D.
- Minimum of 10 years of driving experience.
- Previous ambulance driving experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Medical education is an advantage but not required – training will be provided.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian is required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Previous experience working with an NGO is an advantage but not required.
- Good knowledge of Mykolaiv and surrounding roads.
